Christmas Nails #1

I hope everyone is all prepared now for Christmas! With less than a week to go it is the final end of the Christmas countdown and some people are manicly rushing around finding the last gifts and cards; shops are crazy at the moment so i'm trying to avoid them!

Here's my first lot of Christmas inspired nails, i love red and white - you can't really go wrong with it and a bit of glitter thrown in for good measure :)

For this i used a 17 nail polish which is my all time favourite red (no name on the bottle)! Actually i think i'll get another one because it's so gorgeous; if i can find the name of it. Then i used Barry M Red Glitter for the tips and Natural Collection nail tip whitener for the detailing.

Unfortunatly i'm sad to say that within a day the glitter started to chip off; no idea why as it stayed on great when i did my whole nails in the glitter and i used top coat but hey.

It's made me feel more in the Christmas spirit with my nails like this and hopefully at the weekend i will have another Christmas nail mani for you :)

Barry M Copper Glitter

Hey!!

I am getting so excited about the snow right now!

For all of you that don't live in the UK, then just to update you - it's snowing over here :) that might not be something great for some of you who get snow frequently but here it is a rarety, we usually just have rain.

But tonight it's snowing and it looks so pretty :) it's just nice because it never happens. Though today i have spent 4 hours overall on my bus getting to and from work! (It normally takes me 2 hours) so the snow is not great for travelling and my feet got frozen!

Aaanyway here's my beautiful Barry M nail polish in 'Copper'

Barry M 'Copper' 17-doesn't have a name on it!

2 coats of the number 17 polish which is a lovely dark dark brown - reminds me of hot chocolate :)
then i think it was a few coats of Barry M. None of these pictures do it justice, i took so many pictures to try and show how glittery it was.

It truly is a gorgeous nail polish - i recommend everyone should buy it! Do you own any other Barry M glitter polishes? And is it snowing by you? i would love to see some pictures!

My Saturday - and Children in Need Nails

1. lots of junk for a saturday night in 2. new opi glitter nail polish 3. salt rock candle
4. OOTD 5. Oil burner 6. New oil fragrances
7. Parsnip :) 8. Children in need nails

First up is this OPI Nail varnish 'Pirouette my Whistle' that my boyfriends sister has kindly given to me. She didn't use it and knows my love for nail varnish so gave it to me. i can't wait to try it out (love of glitter and all that)

I saw these candles in the German market in Birmingham the other day (woo Christmas is on it's way!!) and i fell in love with them. They look even more gorgeous when they're lit up so i will post the pics when i use it. Anyway i thought the ones at the German market were a little overprices so i found this one for £4 here.

Yesterday was Children in need so at the last minute on Thursday evening decided to do my nails themed.

Hopefully you can kind of see the resemblance, i din't have the time or patience to do actual Pudsy on my nails so just did his bandanna.

L-R: Sally Hansen Hard as nail - used as a base coat; Rimmel '055, Sunshine'; 17 - doesn't have a name; MUA - Shade 9; Natural Collection - Nail Tip Whitener; China Glaze - In the Lime Light Neon

Just an OOTD - Jane Norman jumper, Topshop 'Jamie' jeans and my Adidas trainers.
Just right for a quick trip to some garden centres to get some accessories for Christmas!

Baby Parsnip looks so small in my kitchen :D

Hope you're all having a good weekend

Gold Stripes

It feels like ages since i did a post so here's a really nice simple design that had a great effect. I own so many silver nail polishes or silver glitter nail polishes that i really need to get a gold one. The only one i have is this one below and it isn't as glittery as i'd like so i had to try and jazz it up a bit without loosing the gold colour.

I didn't have much time to do this so i just used my models own nail art pen to create the stripes. I originally wanted to do the stripes criss crossing but i thought that might be a bit too much and overshadow the gold.

For this i used 17 nail polish (not sure what shade) and models own black nail art pen. i didn't use a base coat and just applied 2 coats of the gold 17 polish followed by the the stripes on top once the gold had dried.

I was pretty pleased with how straight i managed to get the lines and how little i managed to get on my skin (for a change!) It wasn't anything complicated but it looked quite cute :)

please let me know though of any good really glittery gold nail polishes!

Minnie mouse spots

I'd seen a few people do this sort of thing and I thought it looked really pretty and I love the colour red so I thought I'd give it a go. the red nail varnish I used was really vibrant and it looked even better than I thought it was going to. I didn't want to make it too complex because I thought it would be too hard for me to do my left hand; so I just did a little black bow on my thumb.

The red looks a bit dark in the bottle, the picture of it on my nails show what it really looks like. I think it was 1, maybe 2 coats of red and then just used the brush of the white nail varnish to do the spots. Although in the pictures my nails look really shiny; I didn't use any top coat. I tried to use the top coat but as soon as i put it on my nail it seemed to smudge the red nail varnish into the white spots - not good! Even without top coat my nails didn't chip for a while and i got loads of compliments :)

I'd love to know of a good brand of white nail polish though because this white nail polish on it's own isn't that thick and it takes a few coats to look good.
