My collection - Pinks pt1

For some reason looking at these polishes it reminds me of old ladies, elegant old ladies that is. I have no idea why.

L-R: Goldigga 'Hot Pink', OPI 'You Only Live Twice', Barry M 'Chameleon Pink', Miss Sporty-no name on bottle

i have to say these are probably the colours of polish i wear the least. I love the colour pink but these just don't do it for me, maybe they are a little too plain for me but they are still lovely colours and do indeed have an air of elegance about them.

My Collection - Blues and Greens

L-R: Natural Collection 'Topaz', OPI 'Turquoise Shatter', MUA 'Shade 9', Miss Sporty-no name on bottle, Miss Sporty-no name on bottle

L-R: Miss Sporty- no name on bottle, China Glaze 'In the lime light (neon)', MUA 'Pistachio Ice Cream', American Apparel 'Neon Green'

Pistachio Ice Cream is one of my favourites still now; there was a bit of a hype when it came out and i can see why because it is lovely and such a complimenting colour. The Neon Green would never fail to catch someone's eye, American Apparel really have done well with making this so neon. It still concerns me about the health warning on the back saying:

'THIS PRODUCT MAY CONTAIN A CHEMICAL KNOWN TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO CAUSE CANCER, OR BIRTH DEFECTS OR OTHER REPRODUCTIVE HARM'

I've only worn it twice i just admire the bottle now. Does anyone have any more information about the health warning and why it's allowed to be in the polish?

Watercolour nails

Watercolour nails eh?

I'd not heard of this before but spotted it on Pinterest (surprise surprise) and fell in love with it and thought I'd give it a go.

1. First off start with  a plain base colour, i chose white so i had a neutral background.
2. Choose your colours and just randomly dab blobs on to your nail
3. Using nail polish remover, get a paintbrush and dab the remover onto the nail to blend the colours together
4. If needed blob on some more colour if you feel like the nail is lacking in one of the colours and blend again with nail polish remover

L-R: Natural Collection nail tip whitener; Collection 2000 'Candy Floss'; Rimmel 'Coralicious'; Claire's yellow nail polish; Miss sporty Glossy finish; Rimmel 'Purple Pulse'

Such a brilliant super quick, easy and effective nail art and it will turn out different every time! I cna only imagine some of the colour combinations you could think up!

What colours would you use?

Blue & Orange geometric

Blue and orange; not necessarily 2 colours you put together so i thought why not eh?! and then used my pink models own pen to do the design.

Not sure what really inspired this design but i'm pleased with the outcome, i like how geometric it looks and it was fairly easy once i had a steady hand :)

L-R: Miss Sporty 'Blue Bath'; Sinful Colors 'Cloud 9 - 853'; Models Own Pink Nail art pen

I loved this colour from the sinful colours range, the colour i used was 'Cloud 9 - 853' and it was a really smooth consistency and stayed on my nails longer than i had expected. The nail polish was £1.99 and at first i thought it might be quite thin and then chip easily but i'm glad that i was proved wrong!

What do you think about the colours together?

Green to Blue

I thought i'd try something a little more relaxed and not so thought about. I decided to use 5 different shades of polish (plus white) and used a different colour on each nail. Looking through my nail polish collection it was easiest to pick out 5 green/blue polish for this mani.

L-R: Natural Collection Tip Whitener; MUA Pistachio Ice Cream; Miss Sporty Blue Bath; Miss Sporty Ferris Wheel; Miss Sporty Raindrop; Primark Blue Nail Polish

Overall i really liked this and the fade from one colour to the next and it was so simple to do which was great because i didn't have to be overly neat doing it and because the colour was all over the place i found it stayed on my nails longer (apart from the bit you can see on my thumbnail that cracked off)

Triple Colour

Hayy,

So me and my boyfriend went shopping and he insisted on buying me these 3 nail varnishes! I know brilliant right!

They're all Miss sporty nail varnishes, from L-R - lasting colours in 'Raindrop', clubbing colours in 'china glaze' and lasting colours in 'It's not my name'. Although none of them say the colours on the bottle. The colours are all really pearly and nice.

I was so excited that i wanted to try them all at once...so i did.

I used cellotape to block off the part of the nail i didn't want nail varnish on but the first time i did it, the cellotape picked up the turquoise colour so i had to take it off and start again. Turquoise seemed to be the only colour that it peeled off so i made sure i did the other colours first and left the turquoise until last. the lines turned out neat through i had to do a few touch ups. Really impressed with the colours as they actually look like they look in the bottle. I loved the contrast and how much each colour stood out. Can't wait to use these colours again, xx
